This stamp features Alexander von Humboldt (14th Sep 1769 to 6th May 1859), a Prussian polymath, geographer, naturalist, explorer, and influential proponent of Romantic philosophy. He was the younger brother of the Prussian minister, philosopher, and linguist Wilhelm von Humboldt.
